MLM Personality Profiling – Which One Are You?
The material that you are reading right now changed the way that I viewed people in the network marketing business. Please understand I cannot take credit for this particular view of the three main character types that is commonly found in network marketing. Although I did not come up with the original idea of the Alpha, Pre-Alpha and Beta personality type network that is taught in great detail in Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring book. I will go as far as saying that understanding these three character types, you will be empowered to reach your goals building your business faster and more effectively.
So what are the three MLM personality types?
The worst type of character, you will encounter in the network marketing industry is the Beta personality type. These are the type of individuals that have little confidence in themselves and have little or no value to offer to others. They also show signs of being uncomfortable with being a leader in the industry. Instead of living a productive life, Beta type personalities typically live their lives in a state of reaction. It is not uncommon for this personality type to allow life events and stronger personalities to dictate their reality. This is why it is so hard to work with this type of personality, because when situations do not go as planned for them they typically will make excuses and often blame others for their misfortunes.
Moving up one spot from the Beta personality type is the Pre-Alpha personality type. The major difference between the Pre-Alpha persona and the Beta persona is most Pre-Alpha personality types have the vision, courage and willingness to lead themselves through the struggles associated with building a network marketing business. Pre-Alpha’s understand that building a successful network marketing business is a struggle and a lot of hard work. What makes them so unique is their understanding that if they can lead themselves through the struggles it will be just a matter of time before they will be able to lead others through similar struggles. Another characteristic of a Pre-Alpha persona is shown when they begin to push their comfort zones and start to take more responsibilities for their personal businesses and growth. These are some of the best people to work with, because if trained properly they will become some of the most successful leaders within the network marketing industry.
Finally, the ideal personality within the network marketing industry is the Alpha personality type. Alpha networkers know what they want, and they know exactly how to obtain their goals. This personality type offers tremendous value to their team, and the industry as a whole. Alpha networkers typically have the mindset of high expectations and live their lives in a state of abundance. They very rarely have problems sponsoring people into their personal businesses, because people are naturally drawn to them and want to work with them. Their personalities are so strong that people are often sucked into their reality. Alpha personalities are the best people to work with in network marketing, because these are the true leaders in the industry. It should be a goal of yours to find this type of personality for the stability and long term growth of your organization. Can you imagine what your team would look like if you had three strong Alpha personality types on your team?
So how do you become an Alpha personality type?
If you are a Beta or Pre-Alpha personality type and it is highly recommended that you find an Alpha personality type and mirror what they do. Understand that in order to change from being a Beta or Pre-Alpha personality to an Alpha personality, it will take some time. Along the way to becoming an Alpha personality, you will make many mistakes and frustrate quite a few people. As you make adjustments becoming an Alpha personality, do not be hard on yourself if you don’t get it right the first time. The only way to learn how to become an Alpha personality type is to screw up, make adjustments and move forward to become the leader you deserve and was born to be.
